In summary, a person's proximity to an antenna can affect reception by absorbing or reflecting radio waves. Their movements, size, and presence of multiple people can also have an impact. To reduce this impact, increasing the distance between the person and the antenna can help.

I have a antenna in my room & it runs to my tv tuner.

Just curious why the reception of the signal is affected by a person moving around the room? Even swaying your arm slightly affects it.

thanks.

because the wavelength of tv antenna is in the same order of magnitude with your hand.
A UHF frequency have wavelength between 10 cm to 1m while VHF frequency have wavelength between 1 to 10 m. [data taken from Wikipedia]

Hope it explains

Related to Antenna reception affected by person.

1. How does a person affect antenna reception?

When a person stands near an antenna, their body can absorb or reflect some of the radio waves that are being received by the antenna. This can result in a decrease in signal strength and affect the reception quality.

2. Can a person's movements affect antenna reception?

Yes, a person's movements can also affect antenna reception. If a person moves closer to or farther away from the antenna, it can cause fluctuations in the signal strength and affect the reception quality.

3. Does the size of the person matter in antenna reception?

Yes, the size of a person can affect antenna reception. A larger person may have a bigger body mass that can absorb more radio waves, while a smaller person may have less impact on the reception.

4. Can multiple people affect antenna reception at the same time?

Yes, the presence of multiple people near an antenna can have a cumulative effect on reception. The more people there are, the more radio waves can be absorbed or reflected, leading to a greater impact on reception quality.

5. Is there a way to reduce the impact of a person on antenna reception?

One way to reduce the impact of a person on antenna reception is to increase the distance between the person and the antenna. This can help minimize the absorption or reflection of radio waves by the person's body.
