Wanna check out the string theory?

In summary, the conversation is about someone finding a useful source to understand the basics of string theory, which is a concept often discussed on the PBS channel's program NOVA. The source includes a streaming video and a book by British physicist Brian Greene. The person recommends watching the video and reading the book, which have simplified the concept to an extremely basic level. They also mention that the book is a bestseller and provide a link to download the files instead of streaming them.

wanna check out the string theory?

hey guys, umm... i was surfing on the net and found a useful source to understand the basic ( i mean at the very basic level) , what is string theory?

okay , you guys might be watching PBS channel on TV. NOVA is a producing company for this channel. this movie is really made possible by british physicist BRIAN GREENE. You can watch the streaming video, part by part, on this link. It has good animation and simplified to extremely basic level. I really liked it and i also ordered the BOOK and DVD

The title is ELEGANT UNIVERSE by brian greene

This is a priceless dedication by brian greene, please watch it. The book is really interesting and is the best selling book of the year.

1. What is string theory?

String theory is a theoretical framework in physics that explains the fundamental nature of particles and their interactions. It proposes that particles are not point-like objects, but rather tiny, vibrating strings.

2. Why is string theory important?

String theory is important because it is a potential candidate for a "theory of everything" that could unite all of the laws of physics into one cohesive framework. It also has the potential to explain phenomena such as gravity and the nature of the universe.

3. How is string theory different from other theories?

String theory differs from other theories, such as quantum mechanics and general relativity, because it attempts to reconcile and unify them into one overarching theory. It also introduces the concept of extra dimensions and string-like objects, which are not present in other theories.

4. How do scientists study string theory?

Scientists study string theory through mathematical calculations and theoretical models. They also conduct experiments to test its predictions and implications, although currently there is no experimental evidence to support string theory.

5. What are some criticisms of string theory?

Some criticisms of string theory include the lack of experimental evidence, the complexity of its mathematical framework, and the fact that it has not yet made any testable predictions. It is also a highly controversial theory within the scientific community.
