Mathematical modelling of Electric-Thermal-Structuralphysics

In summary, the conversation is about finding good sources for mathematical relations related to electric-thermal-structural physics, specifically the Joule Thomson effect and thermal stress/strain. The suggested source is a paper titled "Electrical-Thermal Co-Simulation for DC IR-Drop Analysis of Large-Scale Power Delivery" by Tianjian Liu and Jian-Ming Jin in the IEEE Transactions on Components, Packaging and Manufacturing Technology, February 2014. However, the mathematical relations are not explained in great detail in the paper.

Hi i am working on a research paper for which i need very good citation for the analytic analysis coupling Electric - Thermal-Structural physics(via Joule Thomson effect & Thermal stress/strain). Please provide any good source of mathematical relations describing the above complete or in part phenomenon. Thank you for your time.

I recently saw these guys present work--more on the computational modeling side--but their paper is here. It looks like the mathematical relations are not explained in great detail.

Related to Mathematical modelling of Electric-Thermal-Structuralphysics

1. What is mathematical modelling of Electric-Thermal-Structuralphysics?

Mathematical modelling of Electric-Thermal-Structuralphysics is the process of creating a mathematical representation or simulation of the interactions between electric, thermal, and structural phenomena. This allows for the prediction and analysis of the behavior of systems that involve these three physical properties.

2. What are the benefits of using mathematical modelling in this field?

Using mathematical modelling in Electric-Thermal-Structuralphysics allows for a better understanding of the complex interactions between these phenomena. It also allows for the prediction and optimization of system performance, as well as the identification of potential issues or failures. Additionally, it can save time and resources by reducing the need for physical experimentation.

3. How is mathematical modelling used in real-world applications?

Mathematical modelling of Electric-Thermal-Structuralphysics is used in a variety of real-world applications, such as designing and optimizing electronic devices and systems, predicting and analyzing thermal behavior in buildings and infrastructure, and understanding the effects of thermal and structural stresses on mechanical components.

4. What are the challenges of mathematical modelling in this field?

One of the main challenges of mathematical modelling of Electric-Thermal-Structuralphysics is accurately capturing all the complex interactions and phenomena involved. This requires a deep understanding of the underlying physics and careful consideration of boundary conditions and assumptions. Additionally, the accuracy of the model depends on the availability and quality of data used for validation.

5. What are some common techniques used in mathematical modelling of Electric-Thermal-Structuralphysics?

Some common techniques used in mathematical modelling of Electric-Thermal-Structuralphysics include finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics, and circuit simulation. These techniques allow for the representation and solution of complex systems and can be used in combination to model the interactions between electric, thermal, and structural properties. Other techniques such as statistical analysis and optimization methods may also be used to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the model.
