Anyone know any cool new theories about time travel?
Ryan Lucas said:Time is a meandering river, which spits and forks into many "parallel dimentions". For instance, if one went back in time and killed Hitler, he would still live in our dimention, however, time would spit, thus there can be an infinite number of dimentions. Some physisists believe that a black hole is the point of passage between these universes, let's just hope the crusshing gravity of 2 or 3 billion suns doens't kill you!
I have always considered the Everett, Wheeler, and Graham theory to be referring to universes that exist only hypothetically. I thought the idea was that mathematically you had to treat the various possabilities as true even if they don't come true. Am I wrong on that, does anyone know?GOD AM said:This is just a bunch of crap. Might work for science fiction movies, but people come here to learn. I can't imagine a physicist that believes any of this.Ryan Lucas said:Time is a meandering river, which spits and forks into many "parallel dimentions". Time-travel is the concept of moving between different points in time, either forwards or backwards. It is often portrayed in science fiction as a way to visit different eras or change events in the past.
Currently, time-travel is not scientifically possible according to our current understanding of physics. The laws of physics, specifically Einstein's theory of relativity, make it difficult for objects to travel through time. However, some theories suggest that it could be possible through the manipulation of space-time or wormholes.
There are several theories on time-travel, including the concept of parallel universes, wormholes, and the theory of relativity. The parallel universes theory suggests that time-travel could occur by traveling to a different universe where time is different. The wormhole theory suggests that a tunnel through space-time could allow for travel to different points in time. The theory of relativity proposes that time dilation, or the distortion of time due to gravity, could allow for time-travel.
This is a highly debated topic. Some theories suggest that changing the past could create a paradox and alter the present and future. Others propose that any changes made in the past would create a new timeline or alternate universe. However, since time-travel is not currently possible, it is impossible to know for sure.
There are no known instances of time-travel in real life. However, some scientists have observed phenomena such as time dilation, where time moves slower for objects in motion, which could have implications for time-travel in the future. Some also argue that the concept of déjà vu, or the feeling of experiencing something before, could be a form of time-travel.
