In summary, Michio Kaku and Stephen Hawking are both estimated to have a net worth of over $5 million, and it is difficult to determine their exact book sales as they also have income from other sources. The most successful book written by Michio Kaku is "Physics of the Impossible", selling over 1 million copies, while Stephen Hawking's "A Brief History of Time" has sold over 10 million copies and spent over 5 years on the bestseller list. Their book sales are among the highest in the science and non-fiction genres, but they do not make as much as some other bestselling authors in other genres. Both have been known to donate a portion of their book profits to charity and their fame as scientists

I've read that authors of books get paid very little and have many challenges in getting their book published.

But my question is, how much would Michio Kaku make out of "Physics of the Impossible" or Stephen Hawking out of "The universe in a Nutshell"? Both of which where bestsellers and popular.
