Action Scenes in movies that depict projectile motion?

In summary, the conversation discusses various action scenes in movies and cartoons that depict projectile motion, including a scene from Die Hard 4, a spit scene from Bull Durham, and a scene from The Exorcist. The participants also mention using the SUVAT equation to calculate the velocity of projectile vomit, as well as the frequent depiction of projectile motion in the roadrunner and coyote cartoon. The conversation ends with a reference to the movie Vertical Limit and a suggestion for a potential pornographic film.

Action Scenes in movies that depict projectile motion??

What are some actions scenes in movies or cartoons that depict projectile motion? This is for a physics project but I can't think of any good scenes to do. I would do the tunnel-helicopter scene in Die Hard 4 but the ramp isn't frictionless...

Any scene where a guy jumps from the roof of one building to a lower building.

I'm a bit weird, so I'd probably try to pick a scene no one else would do. there isn't a movie that doesn't have some sort of projectile motion. Baseballs, cannonballs, spit, bullets. I'd probably do a spit scene. They probably spit in Bull Durham I just saw a movie where some guy spits a big brown tobacco spit and kills a bug. I can't remember what it was though

Simply measure (or estimate) the height of her mouth. Measure (or estimate) the landing point for the vomit. Use the projectile vomiting equation (SUVAT equation for you Brits) to calculate the velocity of the vomit as it leaves her mouth.

The roadrunner and coyote cartoon depicts projectile motion in virtually every episode.

If I wasn't such a gentleman I'd suggest a porno. You can usually find some projectile motion in one of them.

What was that mountain movie, where they guy makes a ridiculous jump across a chasm? Was that Vertical Limit?

Related to Action Scenes in movies that depict projectile motion?

1. What is projectile motion?

Projectile motion is the curved path an object takes when it is thrown or launched into the air. This motion is caused by the combination of an initial velocity and the force of gravity.

2. How is projectile motion depicted in action scenes?

In action scenes, projectile motion is often depicted by showing objects, such as bullets or arrows, flying through the air in a curved path. This is usually done to add a sense of realism and excitement to the scene.

3. Is the portrayal of projectile motion in movies accurate?

In most cases, the portrayal of projectile motion in movies is not entirely accurate. While the basic principles of projectile motion are usually followed, other factors such as air resistance and wind are often ignored for the sake of dramatic effect.

4. Can real-life physics be applied to action scenes in movies?

Yes, real-life physics can be applied to action scenes in movies. However, as mentioned earlier, certain factors may be exaggerated or ignored for the sake of storytelling and visual appeal.

5. How can I improve the accuracy of projectile motion in my own action scenes?

If you want to improve the accuracy of projectile motion in your action scenes, it is important to do thorough research on the laws of physics and consult with experts in the field. Additionally, using computer simulations can help you visualize and accurately depict the motion of objects in your scenes.
