A crate of mass 30.0kg rests on level surface. The coefficient of kinetic friction between the crate and surface is .400 . What force applied at an angle of 30.0 degrees below the horizontal (i.e. pushing down) is required to keep the mass moving at constant speed?......on...
A rock is thrown vertically upward from ground level at time t=0. At time t=1.5s it passes the top of a tall tower, and 1.0s later t reaches its maximum height. What is the height of the tower? ... is this the equation i would use... delta(Y)= Vo(t) + 1/2(a)(t2)...with Vo= 0 , t=1.5, a=...
This is going to sound like a really stupid question, and I hope the atmosphere here isn’t so rarified that it will bother anyone, but if it does, I apologize in advance.
I heard recently that the Big Bang didn’t happen all in one place. If that’s true, my universe-view has been skewed. Can...
General physics: Someone please explain what a "short circuit" is
I am currently reading electricity and although I have read my textbooks well, I still don't understand what a "short circuit" is..thanks
Hi, I have 2 questions...
1. If a carnival swing is fixed on the end of an 8.1-m-long beam. The swing and beam sweep through an angle of 120 degrees. How do i find the distance through which the riders move?
2. A car is safely negotiating an unbanked circular turn at a speed of 34...
I have a simple physics problem I'm not sure how to solve.
A child builds a big snowman which contains 50kg of snow. How much energy would it take to melt it from an initial temperature of -2 degrees Celsius?
i have these questions for homework and they been bugging me any help on working them out will be greatly appreciated
1. Speed is displayed on a bicycle computer to within 0.1 km/hr (about 0.03 m/s). However we are puzzled how this accuracy is obtained.
Measurements are updated each second...
Water Propeller -- General physics questions
Howdy,
I have been following the boat bike concept for a few days and am interested in finding out more on how to get better water surface speed. The props on these bikes look small and the specs are touting no more than 10 km/h.
Can anyone...
