Where to Access the Longest Worked Out Calculations in Physics?

In summary, the conversation discussed the availability of worked out quantum field theory calculations and the longest calculations in physics. It was suggested to refer to a good QFT book for a variety of calculations, with some examples of numerically calculated Standard Model quantities. Additionally, some links were provided for further resources on lengthy calculations.

Where can I find worked out quantum field theory calculations?

What are the longest calculations in physics? I would like to see them.

It depends on what kind of QFT calculations you want to see... a good QFT book ought to have quite a few.

I don't know of "the longest" calculations, but I suppose you could make them as long as you want, for example by pertubatively expanding some arbitrary QFT to some arbitrary order and doing the integrals. For example, Standard Model quantities have been numerically calculated up to some large order in the couplings. However, those are kind of "trivial" cases: although the calculations are not pretty and become longer and longer, the method is straightforward and well-studied.

A big thanks! :)

You can send more good links here, if you want.

Related to Where to Access the Longest Worked Out Calculations in Physics?

1. What are worked out calculations?

Worked out calculations are the process of solving a mathematical problem by following a series of steps and showing all of the work involved. This includes writing out equations, showing substitutions and simplifications, and arriving at a final answer.

2. Why are worked out calculations important?

Worked out calculations are important because they allow for a clear understanding of how a problem is solved. This allows for errors to be identified and corrected, and for others to follow the same process and arrive at the same answer. It also helps to develop critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities.

3. How do you show your work in worked out calculations?

To show your work in worked out calculations, you should write out all of the necessary equations and clearly label each step. You should also show any substitutions or simplifications that are made, and provide an explanation for each step. This can be done on paper or using a calculator or computer program.

4. What are some tips for improving worked out calculations?

Some tips for improving worked out calculations include double-checking your work for errors, using clear and organized steps, and practicing regularly. It can also be helpful to break down complex problems into smaller, more manageable parts and to seek help from others if needed.

5. How can worked out calculations be applied in real life?

Worked out calculations can be applied in many real-life situations, such as budgeting, cooking, and measuring. They are also essential in scientific research and engineering, as well as in many other fields that require problem-solving and critical thinking skills. By showing your work, you can also communicate your thought process and findings to others in a clear and concise manner.
