In summary, engineers can effectively balance job searching and social media use by creating a schedule, setting boundaries, and utilizing networking opportunities. By setting aside specific times for job searching and social media use, engineers can maintain a healthy balance and avoid distractions. Setting boundaries, such as limiting social media use during working hours, can also help to increase productivity and focus on job searching. Additionally, engineers can use social media as a tool for networking, connecting with potential employers, and staying updated on industry news and job opportunities. By implementing these strategies, engineers can effectively manage their time and prioritize their job search while still staying connected on social media.

Hello everyone,
I am a mechanical engineer and I have finally landed my first job. After months of searching, it has finally happened.
At a cost: looking for a job employing every resource you have also means constantly browsing on Facebook and other social media. Therefore I am eager to finally close all my social media accounts for at least a few months (taking a break) o_O.

I hope this forum will be good replacement, as I am sure there will always be the need for an engineering forum/community.

Thanks,
Joe
