What is the separation between the two surfaces

In summary, the separation between two surfaces refers to the distance between them at a specific point or along a specific line, measured in units such as meters, centimeters, or millimeters. It can be determined through various methods such as direct measurement, using specialized instruments, or through mathematical calculations. The separation is important in scientific and engineering applications as it can affect device performance, force/pressure exerted, and measurement accuracy. Factors such as surface roughness, temperature, pressure, and material properties can affect the separation, and it can change over time due to wear and tear, temperature fluctuations, or changes in pressure. Regular monitoring and adjustment of the separation is crucial in critical applications.

Homework Statement

You measure a uniform electric field of 13.3 x 10^3 N/C between two equipotential surfaces. One surface is at a potential of 1543 V and the other is at 951 V. What is the separation between the two surfaces?

Homework Equations

Eave = - deltaV/delta x

The Attempt at a Solution

After rewriting the equation I did delta x = (1543V-951V)/(13.3 x 10^3) N/C

I am not sure I am doing this right

Thanks for any help!
