In summary, theoretical physics and applied math are closely connected, with theoretical physics providing the foundation for understanding the physical world and applied math providing the tools and techniques for solving real-world problems in physics. Theoretical physics uses mathematical concepts and models to explain and predict the behavior of the universe, while applied math applies these theories and principles to practical situations, such as engineering and technology. The two fields are constantly influencing and shaping each other, leading to advancements in both understanding and practical applications of physics.

I am interested in theoretical physics and applied math. Many questions I have in the math area are along the lines of "I see how to do it, but is this really useful, important, connected to other areas, etc?"
