Walnut Coffee Table: Don't Overpay!

In summary, a seller on craigslist posted a coffee table for sale at a higher price than its actual value, by copying and pasting the description from a different website. The table can be found for $188 on another site, but the seller is asking for $500. This dishonesty is a common issue on craigslist and buyers should be cautious. In some cases, sellers have even been targeted and harmed. Despite some concerns about assembly, the coffee table may still be worth the higher price for someone who values convenience.

The mistake the seller did is, (s)he cut pasted the description from the original.

A google search of the description shows the item price is $188.

Some ignorant buyer is going to happily buy it for $500 after some tough negotiation :(

Yes. Very dishonest. It's a shame the level of dishonesty we have today.

In my neck of the woods, a guy placed an ad on craigslist to sell a ring, but the "buyers" showed up at his house to rob and kill him. So...seller beware, too!

the primary complaint at overstock seems to be assembly. so maybe if it's already assembled, the price will be worth it to someone.
