velocity over time gives: [tex]\frac{ms^{-1}}{s} = ms^{-2}[/tex]
similarly,
time squared over distance gives:[tex]\frac{s^2}{m} = s^2m^{-1}[/tex]
which is just the reciprocal of acceleration.
