In summary, at least 100 people, 80 of them children, were killed in a Taliban assault on an army-run school in Peshawar. The attack is not surprising given the Taliban's history of targeting women and children. However, it is a tragedy that highlights the barbarism and departure from true Islam of these extremist groups.

How is it that this is no surprise?

The Taliban and their ilk are good at massacring women and children. If a westerner raises his voice at one in captivity, it's an atrocity, though, according to some.

This is horrible, so shocking. I can't imagine the sort of mind that plans this sort of thing, or the sort of monsters who can actually do it.

Didn't you recently throw a fit when someone supposedly used a tragedy to get "political?"

This is the second time that Al Qaeda has referred to an attack by others as too extreme and unacceptable. That has to say something about how rapidly things are deteriorating into barbarism and how far from Islam these people are.
