Solved problems book on high resolution microscopy?

In summary, there is a wide range of nanoscale measurement techniques, including Scanning Electron Microscopes, Scanning Transmission Microscopes, and Scanning Force Microscopes. For analyzing the spectra of atoms, XPS, AES, UPS, and HREELS are commonly used. To practice and gain a better understanding of these techniques, I recommend books such as "Introduction to Scanning Tunneling Microscopy" by C. Julian Chen, "Atomic Force Microscopy: Understanding Basic Modes and Advanced Applications" by Bharat Bhushan, and "Spectroscopy of Atoms and Molecules" by Peter F. Bernath. Online resources such as research papers and tutorials can also provide hands-on experience.

Hello folks,

There is a wide variety of techniques to measure at the nanoscale. There are Scanning Electron Microscopes, Scanning Transmission Microscopes, Scanning Force Microscopes, STM...

Also there are several devices used to analyze the Spectra of atoms: XPS, AES, UPS, HREELS...

I have read several books on this topic the problem is that they were highly theoretical, and I would like to practice. So, do you know any books with solved problems on this topic?

I am searching for something similar to this book:

"X-Ray Diffraction Crystallography: Introduction, Examples and Solved Problems"

I like the part of "Examples and Solved problems" .

Any suggestion is welcome.

Hello there,

Thank you for your post. As a scientist who has worked with nanoscale measurements, I can recommend a few resources that may help you practice and gain a better understanding of these techniques.

One book that I have found particularly useful is "Introduction to Scanning Tunneling Microscopy" by C. Julian Chen. It not only provides a theoretical background on STM, but also includes numerous examples and practice problems for you to work through.

Another great resource is the "Atomic Force Microscopy: Understanding Basic Modes and Advanced Applications" by Bharat Bhushan. This book covers various techniques used in AFM and also includes solved problems and case studies for you to work on.

For analyzing spectra of atoms, I would recommend "Spectroscopy of Atoms and Molecules" by Peter F. Bernath. It covers various spectroscopy techniques and includes practice problems and solutions to help you gain a better understanding.

I hope these recommendations will help you in your practice. Additionally, I would suggest checking out online resources such as research papers and tutorials for hands-on experience with these techniques.

Best of luck in your studies!
