Paragraphing Latex expressions

In summary, Latex expressions always come out on a separate line in the editor if you're using the ##y=mx+b## number signs to delimit them.

When I use Latex, the expression always comes out on a separate line. How do I keep the expression on the same line?

I'm guessing you mean at PF? In that case, use ## ## as delimiters. For example

The famous relation ##E=mc^2## was derived by Einstein

renders as

The famous relation ##E = mc^2## was derived by Einstein

Whoa, there seems to be a bug. I'll move the thread to the feedback forum.

Looks fine in mobile Firefox on Android. Possibly browser specific?

@Greg Bernhardt : I've just checked, and the problem is only in Safari. Firefox renders correctly (on Mac OS 10.13.5).

This is a new problem, to add to the previous one with MathJax in Safari.

How about using ##y=mx+b## number signs? Testing it

And ##E=m c^2## formula?

Safari on iPad Pro.

This one comes out ok in Safari.

Both formulas come out correctly, but the one 1 posted in #2 still displays incorrectly. What is going on?

The equation in the last line renders just fine for me. I'm using IE 11 on Win 7.

It doesn't work on Opera 54 either.

As of Safari 11.1.1, it renders correctly.

I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate, and after post #9, I checked with all 3 (Firefox, Opera & Chrome latest versions), and none of them renders it correctly.
So is it a device specific issue?

Hey, I just figured that if I use the Opera built-in VPN on Windows 7, the equations render correctly. But really it should render at all times. Can someone tell me what's wrong?
