You want to make sure that the .sty file is in a subdirectory like .../texmf/tex/latex/mathdesign and you want to run texhash before trying to use the package.

Hi there,

I would be happy to assist you with installing the mathdesign package on your TeX Live '07. Firstly, can you provide some more details on the specific steps you have taken so far? Did you download the package from a reliable source and unpack it correctly? Also, which texmf directory did you copy the files to?

In general, to install a package on TeX Live, you can use the TeX Live Manager (tlmgr) utility. This tool allows you to easily manage and install packages, including mathdesign. You can access tlmgr through the command line or through a graphical user interface, depending on your operating system.

If you are having trouble using tlmgr, you can also try manually installing the package by placing the files in the correct directories. However, this method can be more complex and may require additional configuration.

Please let me know if you need further assistance or if you have any other questions. I am here to help you successfully install the mathdesign package.
