Exploring String Theory at A-Level: Seeking Advice

In summary, one way to approach the A-level study of string theory is to focus on its applications, such as explaining phenomena like dark matter and the expansion of the universe. Another approach is to explore the mathematics behind string theory, including its equations and symmetries. Additionally, you could consider the relationship between string theory and other branches of physics, as well as the philosophical implications of the theory. By choosing a specific angle, you can avoid making your explanation sound like a simplified textbook.

I am currently an A-Level Student studing the Advancing Physics course at school. I became interested in the string theory after reading some books and watching Prof Stephen Hawking's documentary. I have decided to base my Research and Report Coursework on it but i am struggling to find an angle at which to approach it, or how to make it so my explanation don't just read like a simplified textbook, i would be grateful for any advice as i can't find anyone who has attempted this subject at A-level.

Thanks
Steph

p.s what i have so far is attatched.

One approach to studying string theory at the A-level is to focus on its applications. For example, you could explore how it has been used to explain phenomena like dark matter or the acceleration of the universe's expansion. You could also investigate the implications of string theory for our understanding of space-time and gravity. Additionally, string theory may provide insights into the origin of the universe, as well as helping to resolve some of the longstanding puzzles in physics, such as the nature of black holes and the behavior of quarks and leptons. Another approach might be to explore the mathematics of string theory. Here, you could look at the equations that describe the behavior of strings, as well as the various symmetries and dualities that underlie the theory. You could also consider the different ways of quantizing strings, and the implications this has for our understanding of the universe. Additionally, you could investigate how string theory is related to other branches of physics, such as quantum mechanics and general relativity. Finally, you could also consider the philosophical issues raised by string theory. This could include looking at the implications of the theory for our understanding of time, space, and reality. Additionally, you could investigate the implications of string theory for the idea of a unified theory of everything. In any case, there are many ways to approach the study of string theory at the A-level. By focusing on one of these approaches, you can ensure that your explanation does not simply read like a simplified textbook.
