You may mistake a Dyson shell for a Dyson "swarm" of satellites. The later could start in the near future. One could argue that the first satellite using solar power were the first part of a Dyson "swarm".Gil Fuller said:Any advanced alien civilization which had enough excess energy to build a 'Dyson Sphere' would certainly not need to build one to get more energy.
The best sign of extraterrestrial intelligence would be the detection of technosignatures, which are signs of advanced technology that could only be created by an intelligent civilization. This could include radio signals, laser beams, or even structures on other planets or moons.
There have been several instances where scientists have detected potential signals or anomalies that could be signs of extraterrestrial intelligence. However, none of these have been confirmed and are still being studied.
It is difficult to determine the likelihood of finding evidence of extraterrestrial intelligence. Many scientists believe that it is highly probable that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe, but the vastness of space and our limited technology make it challenging to detect and confirm this evidence.
In addition to technosignatures, other potential signs of extraterrestrial intelligence could include changes in a planet's atmosphere that could indicate the presence of life, unusual patterns in starlight that could be caused by structures or objects, or even the discovery of artifacts or artifacts on other planets or moons.
Scientists use a variety of methods to search for signs of extraterrestrial intelligence, including radio telescopes, optical telescopes, and space missions. They also study data from various space missions, such as the Kepler mission, to search for exoplanets that could potentially support life. Scientists also use mathematical and statistical models to analyze data and look for patterns that could indicate the presence of intelligent life.
