In summary, the speaker is requesting that the moderator of a forum stop locking interesting threads, specifically those about aliens and detection/proof of their existence. They believe it is cowardly and unscientific to not allow these discussions. However, the moderator argues that the threads were nonsense and did not belong on the forum.

I must give you at PF a "courtesy": STOP LOCKING INTERESTING THREADS

For the moment you had erased and/or locked threads from "enan" (if I remember
correctly) about aliens and detection/proof of their existence. It is cowardly and unscientific not allowing such discussions. :frown:

Related to Aliens and detection/proof of their existence

1. What evidence do we have for the existence of aliens?

There is currently no conclusive evidence that proves the existence of aliens. However, there have been various sightings and alleged encounters reported throughout history. Additionally, scientists have discovered potentially habitable exoplanets, leading to the possibility of extraterrestrial life.

2. How do scientists search for alien life?

Scientists use a variety of methods to search for alien life, such as radio telescopes to detect potential signals from other planets, analyzing data from space missions, and studying the conditions and environments of other planets that could potentially harbor life.

3. What is the Fermi paradox and how does it relate to the search for aliens?

The Fermi paradox is the contradiction between the high probability of the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations and the lack of evidence for their existence. This paradox raises questions about the potential barriers that may prevent the detection or communication with alien life forms.

4. How have technological advancements aided in the search for aliens?

Technological advancements have allowed scientists to expand their search for alien life beyond our own solar system. With the development of powerful telescopes, advanced space missions, and new methods of analyzing data, scientists are able to gather more information and increase the chances of detecting potential signs of alien life.

5. What would be considered concrete proof of aliens?

Concrete proof of aliens would require the observation of physical evidence or communication with extraterrestrial beings. This could include the discovery of microbial life on other planets, receiving clear and intentional signals from other civilizations, or direct interactions with aliens. However, due to the vastness of the universe and the limitations of our technology, it may be difficult to obtain concrete proof of aliens in the near future.
