Non flammable, off the shelf propane like gas question?

I'm trying to compress a gas at max 300 psi. I'm making an air tank that will move a small turbine to make electricity. The problem, as I found out, is that 1L at 300 psi is not that much air and I need it to run for about a minute. When I fill my tank with air from a compressor, i run out of...

Proof that VxU=(determinant) derives from VxU=|V||U|sinαe

Not getting really far on this. I do not understand why this forum makes a point on being so cryptic with the help provided. I have no doubts on the good intentions of its members but after asking a couple of questions related with homework I couldn't help get frustrated for the meager hints...

Proof that VxU=(determinant) derives from VxU=|V||U|sinαe

Ups.. The unit vector is in the direction of the normal vector I supose.

Proof that VxU=(determinant) derives from VxU=|V||U|sinαe

    e is a unit vector. (U x V)2 I squared both sides sin2α = cos2α - 1 and here I should have written (cos2α - 1)e

Proof that VxU=(determinant) derives from VxU=|V||U|sinαe

Besides |U||V|Sinα wouldn't that be |U x V|? which confuses me too because it means that |U||V|Sinα = |U x V| = U x V I'm working on it and post if there is any or not much progress...

Proof that VxU=(determinant) derives from VxU=|V||U|sinαe

    Homework Statement I need to proof that VxU=(determinant) starting from VxU=|V||U|sinαe Homework Equations VxU=|V||U|sinαe and what I'm aiming to is VxU=(uy⋅uz - uz⋅vy)i - (ux⋅vz - uz⋅vx)j + (ux⋅vy - uy⋅vx)k The Attempt at a Solution U x V = |U||V|Sinαe (U x V)^2 = |U|^2|V|^2 cos^2α - 1 e (U...

Engineering Course Load: 15 vs 12 Credits - UT Arlington Transfer

Hi there, I would like to hear your opinion on taking 15 credits vs 12 credits. All the classes are engineering classes worth 3 credits hours. The list goes as follow: INTRO TO ENGINEERING DESIGN (Lecture) INTRO TO ENGINEERING DESIGN (Laboratory) SOLID MECHANICS (Lecture) NUMERICAL...

Relative positioning sensor question (With Picture)

That is very cool Dave. It might have a filter like most cameras but I'll check the specs. I just found this diode but the beam angle is way too narrow. I would need something with a wider beam. This is what you mean right? What kind of software could make sense of the IR signals?

Relative positioning sensor question (With Picture)

Thanks a lot for your suggestion Dave. That is what I'm thinking but I'm quite ignorant of the different ways I could achieve it. I was told that to see it could be a good solution to it. My concern is the background (outdoors) and range. How many pixels needs the magenta be to be detected...

Relative positioning sensor question (With Picture)

So I've been researching whatcould be the sensor/s that would do what the picture depicts: I have camera A behind camera B. What I'm trying to achieve is: to point the position of camera B when B passes on the field of view of A. When B pases in front of camera A the Screen of camera A will...

Most Effective 7 Members Truss in Scilab

Not at this point on the assignment. But what I mean by most efficient is whichever layout makes the compression and tensions forces to a minimum. I've been looking at the loop function but I'm not really sure how to use it yet. To reinstate the problem as Mr Bernhardt suggested, I want to...

Most Effective 7 Members Truss in Scilab

Hello everyone, I'm attempting to come up with a way to calculate the most efficient 7 members truss layout using Scilab. The assignment is to make a highway sign support. It has to be L shaped and the truss system is only for the top horizontal part. Two supports. The sign is hanging at the...

    Integrating Sin(x)/Cos^2(x) using u-substitution

you know i just used tan(x) in the first term and u substitution in the second and it worked too! Thanks a lot! Paulo

    Integrating Sin(x)/Cos^2(x) using u-substitution

Homework Statement ∫sec(x)tan(x)+x/(x^2+1) dx The Attempt at a Solution I replaced sec and tan by 1/cos(x) and sin/cos(x) then end up with sin(x)/cos^2(x) then I replace cos^2 x by 1-sin^2 x then I don't know where to go. the second part of the equation works with u substitution. I just...
