Job Skills After a BS in physics, what are the skills needed for employment?

I have, but then those employers who post an entry level engineering position ask me if I have any engineering experience even though it said entry level.

Job Skills After a BS in physics, what are the skills needed for employment?

Hello all, So I am looking for advice on what my next move should be after graduating with my bachelors in physics this May. I have quality engineering internship experience but every job I’ve applied to only wants to hire people with actually engineering experience and not entry level type...

Programs Is physics the right major for my academic passions and interests?

Hello everyone, I am currently a sophomore at a big university in the US and I might transfer to another university soon. I have been conflicted with choosing between physics and engineering for the past 2 years. I love astronomy and is the only academic passion I have besides Earth science and...

Engineering Physics or engineering? Going into university this fall and still unsure

I honestly have not ruled out going for a Phd in physics. Any there actually aren't too many job postings for physics grads. And I do consider salary to be important.

Engineering Physics or engineering? Going into university this fall and still unsure

I just feel like if I don't choose now I will be a little behind since the freshman and sophomore courses for engineers already consist of engineering classes rather than core classes. Also it is very hard to get into my schools engineering program so I was that's why I applied right away so I...

Engineering Physics or engineering? Going into university this fall and still unsure

Thanks for the reply. So are you saying go for engineering? I honestly love the advantages physics will give me at the undergraduate level even if I such as teaching me how to think and gaining research skills and then getting a master's in engineering. That way I can learn the "why" in physics...

Programs Applied physics or engineering physics

Yeah going in with an open mind is a good idea I'm just worried I won't be able to take a variety of different career based courses to test if I like them or not. Do you have any advice or idea about a science-y engineering field that is in demand or has a good job outlook? I got accepted to the...

Programs Applied physics or engineering physics

Thank you so much and I realize both fields are tough but I know for a fact there's very less jobs open for physicist to do actual physics work, and I just thought anything with "engineering" in the title would be good for the job market

Programs Applied physics or engineering physics

I know I see many forums with this question but I still want to know which is the better choice. I am a senior about to graduate and go to University. I originally wanted to do pure physics undergrad and possible go for astrophysics in phd but I realize getting a job in that is very hard. So my...

Programs Applied Physics Degree: Engineering Physics & Job Market

The engineering that they offer in the 3-2 program doesn't seem to interest me as much as just physics . They offer civil, electrical, mechanical and computer . I put on my application the computer one just because it's like one of the best jobs but I'm not big into computers . Plus I thought an...

Programs Applied Physics Degree: Engineering Physics & Job Market

I definitely will pursue higher than a bachelors degree so masters at least. So my original plan if I get in there was to the their 3-2 program with physics and some form of engineering and then do a masters in applied physics , how does that sound? I'm not really sure what jobs I can get with...
