A computer consulting firm presently has bids out on three projects. Let Ai = {awarded project i}, for i = 1, 2, 3, and suppose that P(A1) = 0.22, P(A2) = 0.25, P(A3) = 0.29, P(A1 ∩ A2) = 0.07, P(A1 ∩ A3) = 0.09, P(A2 ∩ A3) = 0.05, P(A1 ∩ A2 ∩ A3) = 0.02.
The question is to find the...
I think I actually figured it out but using a JK flip flop rather than only an SR flip- flop...
Not sure how to fix the undefined issue with 1 - 1 going into the SR without using the JK...any suggestions?
Homework Statement
A Null-Lobur flip-flop (NL flip-flop) behaves as follows: If N = 0, the flip-flop does not change state. If N = 1, the next state of the flip-flop is equal to the value of L.
a) Derive the characteristic table for the NL flip-flop.
b) show how an SR flip-flop can be...
ok so basically the rotational + translation in the rolling ball would equal the translational of the sliding block, however because the rolling ball is losing energy to friction the box would be faster?

If you are trying to loosen a stubborn screw from a piece
of wood with a screwdriver and fail, should you find a screwdriver for which
the handle is (a) longer or (b) fatter?

Homework Statement
A ball rolls without slipping down incline A, starting from
rest. At the same time, a box starts from rest and slides down incline B, which
is identical to incline A except that it is frictionless. Which arrives at the bottom
first? (a) The ball arrives first. (b) The...

A 1.02 kg beaker containing 1.98 kg of oil (density = 916.0 kg/m3) rests on a scale. A 1.98 kg block of iron is suspended from a spring scale and completely submerged in the oil. Determine the equilibrium readings of both scales.
What does the top scale read...

A cube of wood having an edge dimension of 20.9 cm and a density of 651 kg/m3 floats on water.
what is the distance between the top of the cube to the water level?
Homework Equations
F = density*g*Volume

I believe i have the right...
ok so changing the equation to that gives me:
5(3*3k-2 - 2*2k-2) - 6( 3k-2 - 2k-2)
i can see how that gave me some like terms but multiplying through gives me:
15 * 3k-2 - 10 * 2k-2 - 6 * 3k-2 - 6 * 2k-2
i feel like that wasn't where you were leading me lol...i'm sorry, I'm not that...
This is what i tried doing at i stated above...after you plug them in i get
3k - 2k = 5( 3k-1 - 2k-1) - 6(3k-2 - 2k-2), I don't really understand what i can do with that algebraically...i must just be missing it...

Let d0, d1, d2,... be defined by the formula dn = 3n - 2n for all integers n ≥ 0. Show that this sequence satisfies the recurrence relation.
dk = 5dk-1 - 6dk-2.Homework Equations
The Attempt at a Solution
I found that dk = 3k - 2k
dk-1 = 3k-1 - 2k-1
dk-2 = 3k-2 - 2k-2...
