I am a Student still in my freshman years and i am taking Software engineering as my Major. A friend of mine told me that DSD has already many people and companies might be looking for computer engineers who major in Software and Networking. Thats just my 2 cents, hoped it helped.

if so

Both software engineering and digital systems have high demand in computer engineering today. However, the specific demand for each may vary depending on the industry and job market.

Software engineering involves the design, development, and maintenance of software systems. This includes creating applications, operating systems, and other computer programs. With the increasing use of technology in various industries, the demand for software engineers is constantly growing. Companies are always in need of skilled software engineers to develop and maintain their software systems, making it a highly sought after career.

On the other hand, digital systems refer to the hardware components and systems that make up a computer, such as processors, memory, and input/output devices. Digital systems engineers design and develop these components and systems, ensuring they are efficient and reliable. With the rapid advancement of technology, there is a continuous need for digital systems engineers to keep up with the latest developments and improve existing systems.

Overall, both software engineering and digital systems have a high demand in computer engineering today. It ultimately depends on your interests and skills as to which one would be a better fit for you. If you enjoy coding and developing software, software engineering may be a better option. If you are more interested in the hardware aspect of computers, digital systems may be a better fit. It's important to research and understand the specific roles and responsibilities of each to make an informed decision.
