Is there any book containing exercises about quantum mechanics?

In summary, there are several books available that contain exercises about quantum mechanics with answers. Some recommendations include "Practical Quantum Mechanics" by S Flugge, Zettili's book, and a superset of the Dover book. These books cover a range of topics and levels, from basic 1-D potentials to the Dirac Equation and radiation theory, and are suitable for intermediate/advanced undergraduate students.

Depends entirely on what you're looking for, what topics, what level, etc. But a good book along those lines to recommend is "Practical Quantum Mechanics" by S Flugge. It's composed entirely of 219 worked problems, covering the entire range from basic 1-D potentials to the Dirac Equation and radiation theory.

Zettili's book has a lot of examples. It's at sort of an intermediate/advanced undergraduate level, and starts with Dirac notation pretty much right from the get go (chapter 2 is a pretty heavy introduction to the math you need. Don't get discouraged if you have trouble getting through that chapter in one pass).

Yes, there are many books that contain exercises about quantum mechanics with answers. Some popular options include "Introduction to Quantum Mechanics with Exercises and Solutions" by David J. Griffiths, "Quantum Mechanics: Exercises and Solutions" by Jean-Louis Basdevant and Jean Dalibard, and "Quantum Mechanics: Exercises and Solutions" by Walter Greiner. These books provide a variety of exercises at different levels of difficulty and include detailed solutions to help readers better understand the concepts of quantum mechanics.

Related to Is there any book containing exercises about quantum mechanics?

1. What is quantum mechanics?

Quantum mechanics is a branch of physics that studies the behavior and interactions of particles at the atomic and subatomic level. It is a fundamental theory that explains the behavior of matter and energy on a small scale.

2. Why is it important to have exercises about quantum mechanics in a book?

Practicing exercises is essential in understanding and applying the principles of quantum mechanics. As a highly mathematical and abstract theory, exercises allow for the development of problem-solving skills and aid in the comprehension of complex concepts.

3. Are there any recommended books that contain exercises about quantum mechanics?

Yes, there are many books available that contain exercises about quantum mechanics. Some popular ones include "Introduction to Quantum Mechanics" by David J. Griffiths and "Quantum Mechanics: Principles and Applications" by Nouredine Zettili.

4. What level of understanding is required to complete exercises about quantum mechanics?

A strong foundation in math and physics is necessary to successfully complete exercises about quantum mechanics. Some knowledge of linear algebra, calculus, and classical mechanics is also helpful.

5. Can exercises about quantum mechanics be solved without advanced mathematical knowledge?

No, exercises about quantum mechanics require an understanding of advanced mathematical concepts such as linear algebra, calculus, and differential equations. It is not possible to solve these exercises without a solid mathematical background.
