Interest in quantum entanglement would it be an appropriate subject

In summary, the students are discussing potential dissertation topics for their final year of a physics degree. One student is interested in quantum entanglement and is wondering if it would be a suitable subject for their dissertation. They have done well in quantum mechanics and plan to take an advanced module next semester. The other student suggests finding a professor to work with and proposing the topic to them for better guidance.

... for a dissertation in the final year of a physics degree?

Over the summer we will be presented with a number of projects for our final year, we have been told that we may be allowed to choose our own if it is suitable.

I have a genuine interest in quantum entanglement and was wondering if someone could assess whether it would be a suitable subject for a dissertation, or would it be too difficult for an undergraduate?

I did very well in the quantum mechanics part of the course this year and plan to take the advanced quantum mechanics module next semester.

Thanks for any input.

What about quantum entanglement? Typically the idea is to have an original idea you want to test; it's not just another book/article research project.

I think it would be a better idea to find a professor willing to work with you and to propose this subject to him. He will give you better answers than us.

Related to Interest in quantum entanglement would it be an appropriate subject

What is quantum entanglement?

Quantum entanglement is a phenomenon in quantum physics where two or more particles become connected in such a way that the state of one particle is dependent on the state of the other, even if they are separated by large distances.

Why is quantum entanglement important?

Quantum entanglement is important because it challenges our understanding of how particles interact and communicate with each other. It also has potential applications in fields such as quantum computing and communication.

How is quantum entanglement studied?

Quantum entanglement is studied through experiments using entangled particles, such as photons or electrons, and measuring their states. The results of these experiments provide evidence for the existence of entanglement and can help us understand its properties.

What are the potential applications of quantum entanglement?

Some potential applications of quantum entanglement include quantum cryptography, where the entangled particles are used to securely transmit information, and quantum teleportation, where the state of one particle can be transferred to another particle instantaneously.

Is quantum entanglement an appropriate subject to study?

Yes, quantum entanglement is an appropriate subject to study as it is a fundamental part of quantum mechanics and has potential applications in various fields. Its study can also lead to a better understanding of the nature of particles and their interactions.
