So i want to understand how concepts like van der waals, electronegavity and covalent bonds were discovered, measured and derived back in the days. I'm looking for a good book to explain this. So far I've looked at a book by Jacob.Intermolecular and Surface Forces, Revised Third Edition - Jacob N. Israelachvili
