Homework Statement
(2 CIS (pi/6))*(3 CIS (pi/12))
Homework Equations
Also what is CIS? I believe it's Cos+i*sin but how do you use it?
The Attempt at a Solution
i simplified it to
6 CIS (pi/12)
How do i turn it into cartesian?
Homework Statement
ok so on a practice test it states that:

The Attempt at a Solution
Ok so basically there are 4 possible...
Now what would i tell myself if i could speak to myself when i was in high school?
1. Keep going.
2. Get Smarter.
3. Two more years left.
Of course to tell myself that in high school i would just have to wait 2 seconds.
(i'm in high school if you didn't realize already :D)
i'm sucking all...
oh shoop da woop thank you guys so much!
After deciphering some of your maths jingo, i got it! Thanks guys i really appreciate your help!
and Mark a special thanks to you for replying to all my threads so hastily!
Thanks guys :D
Homework Statement
a cannon launches a projectile. H, is the height in metres that the cannon ball is above the horizon by t seconds.
h= -0.75t^2 + 16t + 3
Homework Equations
What is the maximum height reached by the cannonball?
The Attempt at a Solution
Ok so i tried completing...
= -3/4(t2 - 20t + 100) + 75
= -3/4(t - 10)2 + 75
So with that part where you completed the square, the + 75 is right because you do the opposide of -3/4 x 100?
Like i thought you were supposed to do the opposite of what's in the brackets, (-100) but I'm assuming because the -3/4 you instead do...
Homework Statement
A basketball is thrown into the air, and it's height is determined by
h = 3/4t(20-t) where t = time.
Homework Equations
What is the greatest height the ball reaches
The Attempt at a Solution
Ok so i tried to graph this out but stuffed up, a bit hard to show...
Thanks a heap mark you cleared up a lot for me, but to clarify:
ok so when you said "I'm adding 9 since I really added -9 earlier" you meant that in:
-(x2 - 6x + 9) - 8 + 9
^ Is actually a -9 because of the negative in front of the brackets?
And in the transition between...

For the following questions, find the Domain and Range.
Use either the graph or turning point method.
Homework Equations
1. y= -x+6x-8
2. y= x^2-3x-5
3. y= -x^2+4x+4
And a question on the matter, when you complete the square, as in when I half the middle term...
