Time taken for amount of a nuclear material to remain

Thanks for the hint :) I haven't done any maths in over 2 years before starting my physics course so I've forgotten a lot of basic stuff which they tend to skip out on in Uni. logeN = -λt loge0.35 = -1.209x10-4t t = loge0.35 / -1.209x10-4 = 8683.4 years. Is this correct?

Time taken for amount of a nuclear material to remain

Homework Statement The half life T½ of Carbon-14 is 5730 years. What is its decay constant? After what length of time will 35% of an initial sample of Carbon-14 remain? Homework Equations Decay constant λ= 0.693 / T½ Where N = amount of radioactive substance, N=N0e-λt The Attempt at a...

Engineering Approach for solving voltage across a resistor in circuit?

Yes, I could use KCL. Any method is accepted as long as I get the correct answer. Thanks. So can I simply change I1 and R7 to a voltage source with Ohm's Law? If I convert it to a voltage source though where in the loop would that voltage source be placed? Adjacent to Loop 4 thus giving me the...

Engineering Approach for solving voltage across a resistor in circuit?

Homework Statement I must solve for the voltage across the resistor labelled R1 in the circuit above. The values given are the resistance of each resistor, the voltage of each voltage source and the current of the current source. Note: If referring to circuit loops consider them as being...
