In summary, the conversation discussed the use of emoticons on the PF platform, specifically on mobile devices. It was noted that there is a wider variety of emoticons available on devices compared to the editor window. The question of how some users are able to use emoticons that are not in the list was raised, with the explanation that they are using the img bbcode to bring them in. The relevance of using a mobile device was also questioned, with the conclusion that it does not affect the availability of emoticons. The main question of why emoticons from the device are not appearing in the PF reply box was then discussed, with the suggestion that the web editor may not accept all of the device's symbols. It was also noted that PF

Why the variety of emoticons on the device are not coming when typing in PF?

The editor emoticons are fine. But device usually has additional emoticons.

I see some guys like NascentOxygen posting Welcome to PF emoticon which is not in editor window.
How is he doing that? Is it because of mentor privileges?

NascentOxygen's welcome emoticon is not in the list. He's using the img bbcode.

Didn't understand. I think you are trying to say that only mobile have the feature of emoticons available in them?

My mobile question is not relevant. What I am saying is that the emoticon NascentOxygen uses is not in the list. He is using the img tag to bring it in like any other external image.

Okay. I think you asked the mobile question as I typed device in first post or I am seen frequently around here.
Is my guess correct?

In keyboard, we have additional buttons. One can get a + sign in reply box by just typing instead of looking for that in editor options more symbols.

So if we have in device's keyboard that symbols that are not in editor options then why they are not appearing in reply box?

The web editor may not accept all of your devices symbols. Are they standard UTF-8 characters?

1. Why are there limited emoticons on my device?

The number of emoticons available on a device is determined by the operating system and the device's manufacturer. Some devices may have a limited selection of emoticons due to storage or compatibility issues.

2. Can I add more emoticons to my device?
