I know this is a strictly academic forum, and not about chit-chat and our personal lives, but do you think there could be a (small) section for scientific jokes (related to maths and physics)?

Here's mine.
Two physicists want to go around the world in a hot air balloon in an experiment. They set off, but after a few days find themselves lost over the ocean. Finally, they spot a beach, with people on it. Overjoyed, they shout to the people:

"Where are we?'

To which the people reply, "In a hot air balloon!"

Sighing, the physicists ask, "Are you guys mathematicians?"

Amazed the people say "Yes, but how did you know?"

"Because you are absolutely right but absolutely useless to us!"
