Which colleges in India are best for physics and/or mathematics BSc MSc and PhD?

In summary, if you are in 12th grade and considering a career in research, there are many reputable institutes to choose from such as IIT Kanpur, IISc Bangalore, and IISERs. It is important to note that math is available in every institute, including IISER, IIT, and IISc, and many people also aim for ISI. If you have a specific field in mathematics for your master's thesis, it is recommended to research the faculty profiles of each institute to see if there is a professor pursuing research in that field. However, if there are no restrictions, focus on the entrance exams for now and good luck on the JEE. Additionally, don't forget about CUET UG

Maths is available in every institute, be it IISER, IIT or the IISc. People also aim for ISI. If you are interested in pursuing a particular field in mathematics as your master's thesis, then look up the faculty profiles of each institute and check if there is at least one Professor pursuing research in that field. If there is no such restriction, focus on the entrance exam for now. Best of luck for the JEE! Also, don't forget CUET UG; you can always try IIT JAM after a BSc to get into IIT, or NET after MSc. CUET has some good institutes like JNU and DU.
