In summary, the conversation discusses the idea of whether or not the United States was justified in entering World War II. Some argue that our involvement led to the liberation of Europe and the growth of a free and stable Germany and Japan, while others question the motivations of President Roosevelt and the speed at which we entered the war. However, it is ultimately agreed upon that ending the threat of Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan was necessary and that the US was the only country capable of doing so. There is also a comparison made to current events and the justification of wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

I'm speaking of Saddam's declaration that Iraq would destroy the United States.
Will you please directly quote what you are referencing here?

As I said, we knew for certain that Saddam had WMD's...
Surely you are not speaking of weapons able to destroy the United States? I can't say I've heard of anything like that either found or presumed missing so I'm really curious to get specifics on what you are speaking of here as well.
