can anybody please help me to understand some of the things regarding tire dynamics?

first of all , while tire is rotating on a road, what are the factors to be considered to find the contact area, and slip area?
second, dissipation, what is the main factor that lead to dissipation , is it the friction of road and tire or is it the damping in the material itself?
It would be nice if some one can suggest any gud text on this
thank you

The best text is "tyre vehicle dynamics" written by Pacjeka.

Related to Understanding Tire Dynamics - Factors & Dissipation

1. What factors affect tire dynamics?

There are several factors that can affect tire dynamics, including tire design, tread pattern, inflation pressure, and road surface conditions. These factors can impact the performance and handling of a vehicle, as well as the wear and tear on the tires.

2. How does tire design impact tire dynamics?

Tire design plays a crucial role in tire dynamics as it determines the shape, size, and materials used in the tire. The design can affect the tire's grip, handling, and rolling resistance, which can impact the overall performance of the vehicle.

3. What role does inflation pressure play in tire dynamics?

Inflation pressure is vital in maintaining proper tire dynamics. The correct pressure ensures that the tire maintains its shape and can properly distribute the weight of the vehicle. Underinflated or overinflated tires can negatively impact handling, fuel efficiency, and tire wear.

4. How does tread pattern affect tire dynamics?

The tread pattern on a tire can affect its grip and handling in different road conditions. For example, a tire with a deeper tread pattern may have better traction on wet or snow-covered roads, while a tire with a shallower tread pattern may provide better handling on dry roads.

5. What is tire dissipation and how does it impact tire dynamics?

Tire dissipation refers to the energy that is lost as heat when a tire is in motion. This dissipation can impact the tire's rolling resistance, which affects the vehicle's fuel efficiency. A tire with lower dissipation will have better fuel efficiency, but may also have reduced traction and handling capabilities.
