Understanding Radio Waves: Definition and Potential Modifications?

In summary, the conversation is about whether or not a world filled to overflowing with 'Mentat-likes' would be a better world. The participants believe that it would be, but there would be fewer crackpots.

What does that mean? and can I change it

Wait until you become a microwave, an infrared, or hard-core gamma, like Mentat

Yeah, people should aspire to be "like Mentat"! LOL!

btw, yes, you can change it. If you go to your "user control panel" and click on "edit profile", then you should see a section of your profile that refers to your status (as "radiowave" or whatever other wave you may be). This is reflection of how many posts you have (more posts will change the "wave status"), but you can change it to be (almost) whatever you want it to be.

So I could just put Gamma wave and no one would no the difference?

Would a world filled to overflowing with 'Mentat-likes' be a better world? [?]

Of course it would! Among other things, we'd know what consciousness is, have a working definition of life, a true invisibility suit, speak fluent Spanish (as well as English), ...

But would there be fewer crackpots?

LMBO!

Don't forget that everyone's fingers would be double-jointed, everyone would post like mad on the PFs (four windows open to the PFs, each on a different thread...curse that "30 seconds between posts" rule!), and the world would be a better place...for me, anyway

Actually, I'm not sure about that...you should try it and find out.

did it work?

nope no gamma wave let's see if it changes this time

What are radio waves?

Radio waves are a type of electromagnetic radiation that have a longer wavelength and lower frequency than visible light. They are used to transmit information, such as sound or data, through the air by modulating the electromagnetic waves.

How are radio waves created?

Radio waves are created by accelerating charged particles, such as electrons, which creates an oscillating electric and magnetic field. These waves can then travel through space or through a conducting material, such as a wire, to transmit information.

What is the difference between AM and FM radio waves?

The main difference between AM (amplitude modulation) and FM (frequency modulation) radio waves is how the information is transmitted. In AM, the amplitude of the wave is varied to carry the information, while in FM, the frequency of the wave is varied. This results in different advantages for each type, such as AM being better for long range transmissions and FM having better sound quality.

What are the uses of radio waves?

Radio waves have a wide range of uses, including broadcasting radio and television signals, communication through cell phones and other wireless devices, radar systems for navigation and tracking, and medical imaging such as MRI machines.

How do radio waves travel through space?

Radio waves can travel through space due to the fact that they are electromagnetic waves, meaning they do not need a medium to propagate. They can travel through a vacuum, such as outer space, at the speed of light. However, they can still be affected by other objects in space, such as planets and stars, which can cause them to be reflected or absorbed.
