I purchased a 6gb set [3x2] tri channel ram chips. One of the chips is apparently doa. It appears replacing it with an identical 2gb chip is not necessarily guaranteed to work. Any suggestions?

A DoA RAM chip is a RAM chip that is Dead on Arrival, meaning it is not functioning properly and cannot be used.
You can tell if a RAM chip is DoA by running a diagnostic test on your computer or by physically inspecting the chip for any physical damage.
A 3x2 Tri Channel Set refers to the way the RAM chips are organized and used together. In this case, it means that there are three sets of two RAM chips that are designed to work together for optimal performance.
To troubleshoot a DoA RAM chip, you can try re-seating the chip, testing it in a different computer, or replacing it with a known working chip. If none of these solutions work, the chip may need to be replaced.
No, a DoA RAM chip cannot be fixed. It must be replaced with a new, functioning chip in order for your computer to run properly.
