In summary, The TeX appearing in the poll options seems to be different for different users and is not rendering properly for some. This is possibly due to the use of preview images in the poll that may be overwritten or deleted. It has been suggested to use external websites for testing TeX code.

The tex graphics in that poll aren't even rendering for me. I didn't know tex was allowed in poll options.

It's my fault again. First the blogs now this... I'll stop using tex so much OK? :P

The images used in the poll are preview images, so as these are overwritten or deleted it causes this issue, possibly. I had to battle a similar issue recently.

And it appears we're all seeing TeX we've posted before.
No wonder I saw that derivative, in the very same way I had typed it in another post!

There are web sites out there that let you try out your code. Here are a couple suggested by members here:

http://at.org/~cola/tex2img/index.php

http://rogercortesi.com/eqn/index.php
