Optical Frequency beating with two different polarizations

In summary, optical frequency beating refers to the process of combining two different polarizations of light to create a beat frequency. This technique is commonly used in optical communication systems to increase the bandwidth and improve signal quality. By adjusting the relative phase between the two polarizations, the beat frequency can be controlled, allowing for precise modulation of the optical signal. Overall, optical frequency beating is a powerful tool in the field of optics for manipulating and transmitting information.

How did you find PF?
Searching for answers.
Beating optical frequencies on a photodiode can give us a direct link between rf and optical domain. This is well known for example when using Optical Frequency Combs for spectroscopy applications.

However, if two optical frequency combs or just two optical frequencies are in different polarization states, can they beat? And if they are in orthogonal polarization states? Why / Why not?

Thank you in advance!
