In summary, it seems that you may have had a follower who is no longer with you, and your count may be incorrect.

I only have two followers, however the counter of how many followers I have is displaying the number 3. I suspect I might have had a follower who is no longer with us.

That is possible. Hopefully the counter will correct soon!

It seems to have been like this for quite a while, probably a month and a half. I always simply assumed I have 3 followers, but then I noticed that I only actually ever had two.

Hmmm... my count is too high by one as well.

You seem to have some 20 followers, but your count shows 32 (from my view).

There's a second page - look for the "MORE" button at the bottom

Oh, okay. But I see that you do have an extra.

My follower count is also off by 1. It says I have seven followers, but lists only six users.

Is that a real possibility?

On a spherical surface like the Earth, you are always following yourself at a distance of about 40,000km...

For Ibix the number shown is correct.
My number is too high by two.
The difference is not always one.

It seems likely that the difference is due to the recent forum glitch, where a number of users were transported into the Phantom Zone...

Oh, that could definitely have contributed.

My number of followers has magically increased to 5 even though I only have 3.

That rules out the recent issue as only origin, because the difference between claimed and actual number increased.
Unfollowing normally reduces the number as it should, I tested that.

Related to Number of Followers: 2, Displaying 3 Suspected Lost Follower

What does "Number of Followers: 2" mean?

This means that there are currently two followers for the account or page.

What does "Displaying 3 Suspected Lost Followers" mean?

This means that out of the two followers, three are suspected to have unfollowed the account. This could be due to various reasons such as inactive accounts or accounts that have been blocked or deleted.

How accurate is the number of followers displayed?

The number of followers displayed is accurate at the time it is shown. However, it may change as followers may choose to unfollow or follow the account at any time.

Why are the three suspected lost followers not confirmed as unfollowers?

The term "suspected" indicates that these followers are not confirmed to have unfollowed the account. It could be due to a temporary glitch or error in the system. Additionally, some followers may have their accounts set to private, making it difficult to confirm if they have unfollowed.

Is there a way to find out the exact number of followers lost?

Unfortunately, there is no way to determine the exact number of followers lost as it is constantly changing. The number displayed is an estimate based on the current data available.
