I used to monitor all activity, which was doable with enough spare time, and few enough posts.
Now that I have less time and we get more posts, I don't usually monitor "Activity" anymore, and switched to monitoring "Latest threads".
But more and more often now, this does not work very well either anymore.
Often enough threads have scrolled out of the list, which is only 10 threads long.

Can the list of latest threads perhaps be made longer?
Perhaps more prominent, which might be a separate page?
Possibly get an option to see older threads?

I use the "New Posts" function to monitor activity, and this feature was recently made even more useful in that until you read a topic, it stays in the list.

I only use the "Activity" tab to monitor visitor messages.

Oh! It appears there already is what I was looking for!

The "New posts" is a bit bland though.
It would be nice if it showed the avatar of the thread creator, like it does in the "Forums" overview, and, don't bother if I'm asking too much, also the avatar of the one responding. ;)

(What would jakncoke think of that! (Cool))

I am thinking long term the "New Posts" layout is good as is because adding avatars decreases the amount of posts you can see on one page. When we have double or triple the traffic this could make a difference. "New Posts" also lets you see any threads that contain unread posts, even if they are quite old, which is a great feature. If we had someone who could code this (jakncoke as you said would be great) then I would be up for testing it out, but as it stands I think between the Latest Threads on the main forum, the Activity Stream, New Posts and Today's Posts - it's ok for now.
