Length of lunar month immediately after moon's formation?

In summary, the length of the lunar month immediately after the moon's formation was estimated to be around 5 days. This was due to the moon being closer to Earth and the Earth rotating faster at that time. We know the length of the lunar month after the moon's formation through geological evidence, such as impact craters on the moon's surface and the analysis of lunar rocks. The length of the lunar month has changed over time due to tidal interactions between the Earth and the moon, as well as the gradual slowing of the Earth's rotation. Currently, the length of the lunar month is approximately 29.5 days, which is the time it takes for the moon to complete one cycle of phases.

Does anyone know how long the lunar month was when the moon was formed?

I can't get the equation to work. I'm looking for speed of the moon when it was created at about 1/10th the current distance from the earth.

Thanks.

Related to Length of lunar month immediately after moon's formation?

What is the length of the lunar month immediately after the moon's formation?

The length of the lunar month immediately after the moon's formation is estimated to be around 5 days.

Why was the length of the lunar month shorter after the moon's formation?

The length of the lunar month was shorter after the moon's formation due to the moon being closer to Earth and the Earth rotating faster at that time.

How do we know the length of the lunar month after the moon's formation?

We know the length of the lunar month after the moon's formation through geological evidence, such as the formation of impact craters on the moon's surface and the analysis of lunar rocks.

Has the length of the lunar month always been the same?

No, the length of the lunar month has changed over time due to tidal interactions between the Earth and the moon, as well as the gradual slowing of the Earth's rotation.

What is the current length of the lunar month?

The current length of the lunar month is approximately 29.5 days, which is the time it takes for the moon to complete one cycle of phases (from new moon to new moon).
