In summary: I just spent a couple of hours playing with my new nerdy presents. I got a hand-held electronic chess game and a hand-held electronic crossword puzzle game. In summary, the conversation revolves around gifts received that could be considered geeky or nerdy, such as a Forever Flashlight that doesn't require batteries, a textbook on Topology, a DVD player for a computer, and a radio controlled car. Some members didn't receive any gifts, while others received non-geeky gifts like perfume or a gift certificate. The conversation also includes some jokes and banter among the members.

I've done all the "nerdy" things wearing leather pants:
- I've explained to a group of freshman on how to approximate e.
- I've showed how to work a related rates problem.
- I've worked on a Differential Equations project
- I've programmed
- I've composed a practice Physics exam for the department I work for.

But I thought you taught English back when you were Gordon Sumner?

But I thought you taught English back when you were Gordon Sumner?

Wrong Sting and English is my least favorite subject.

Tell me your definition of "nerd" and we'll see from there.

Well, have you ever seen the OLD SNL's with Guilda Radner as Lisa Lupner and Bill Murray as her boyfriend, Todd? Do you remember how Todd dressed? That would be one of many definitions of a nerd.

Here's another one. Ya know Ivan? ...

Not only that, but it's not that I wear a button shirt with pocket protectors and 16+ pens and a calculator WITH leather pants (that's just freaky).

Oh, thank God! That WOULD be freaky.
