How hard to get REU at Fermi Lab?

In summary, an REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) at Fermi Lab is a highly competitive summer program for undergraduate students to gain hands-on research experience in physics, astronomy, or computer science fields. To be eligible, students must be US citizens or permanent residents majoring in one of these fields and have completed at least two years of college coursework. The application process typically involves submitting an online application with supporting materials, and unfortunately, only US citizens and permanent residents are eligible to participate.

Fermilab does not offer REUs. Do you mean an internship? I did the SULI one there... a lot of fellow interns only had minor research experience. It seems to be a crapshoot, ~300 people applied and only ~6 of us got it. Unfortunately, with those odds, luck matters much more than skill.
