How do I convert cubic picometer to cubic centimeter?

In summary, the question discusses the calculation of volume for a unit cell with a cell edge of 288 pm. Through the use of conversion factors, we can determine that (288 pm)^3 is equal to 2.39 x 10^-23 cm^3. This can also be calculated using the cube function on a calculator or by approximating the value in our head.

Part of the question says: An unit cell has a cell edge of 288 pm.
I got to the part where volume (288 pm)^3 = (288 x 10^-10 cm)^3
I have no idea how that equals 2.39 x 10^-23 cm^3

Only the Bold part ^

I'm a little confused. Plug 288x10^-10 into your calculator and hit the cubed button. If you would like to do it in your head try

(288e-10)^3 = (2.88e-8)^3
= 2.88^3 x (10^-8)^3
= 2.88^3 x 10^-24
= (3-0.12)^3 x 10^-24
= (3^3 - 3*3^2*0.12 + small) x 10^-24
~= 27*(1-0.12) x 10^-24
~= (27-2.7-0.54) x 10^-24
= 2.376 x 10^-23

(288 * 10-10)3
= 2883 * (10-10)3
= 2.39 * 107 * 10-10 * 10-10 * 10-10
= 2.39 * 10-23

1. How do I convert cubic picometer (pm3) to cubic centimeter (cm3)?

To convert from cubic picometer to cubic centimeter, you can use the conversion factor 1 pm3 = 1 x 10-27 cm3. Multiply the value in cubic picometer by this conversion factor to get the equivalent value in cubic centimeter.

2. What is the formula for converting cubic picometer to cubic centimeter?

The formula for converting from cubic picometer to cubic centimeter is:
cm3 = pm3 x 1 x 10-27

3. Can I use an online converter to convert cubic picometer to cubic centimeter?

Yes, there are many online converters available that can easily convert units of volume, including cubic picometer to cubic centimeter. Just make sure to double check the result to ensure accuracy.

4. What is the difference between cubic picometer and cubic centimeter?

Cubic picometer and cubic centimeter are both units of volume, but they differ in terms of their size. Cubic picometer is a much smaller unit than cubic centimeter. 1 cubic centimeter is equivalent to 1 trillion cubic picometers.

5. Are there any other units I can use to convert cubic picometer to cubic centimeter?

Yes, you can also use the unit of nanometer (nm3) to convert to cubic centimeter. The conversion factor for this is 1 nm3 = 1 x 10-21 cm3. So, to convert from cubic picometer to cubic centimeter, first convert to nanometer and then use this conversion factor.
