Hi, magnetic properties question please.

In summary, magnetic properties refer to the behavior of materials in response to a magnetic field. They can be measured using various techniques and are exhibited by both metallic and non-metallic materials. These properties can be influenced by factors such as composition, crystal structure, and temperature, and are used in a variety of everyday applications, including electric motors, data storage devices, and medical equipment.

 Can anyone tell me the main attributes of:
a loud speaker magnet?
a compass needle?
In terms of permeability, remanence etc.
many thanks

these are both intended to be permanent magnets.
compass needles do not need to be strong, just stable.
speaker magnets should be strong (even with zero applied field), but
should not change strength very much even with an external applied field.

Related to Hi, magnetic properties question please.

What are magnetic properties?

Magnetic properties refer to the behavior of materials in response to a magnetic field. This includes the ability to be magnetized, attract or repel other magnets, and align with a magnetic field.

How are magnetic properties measured?

Magnetic properties can be measured using a variety of techniques, such as magnetization curves, magnetic hysteresis, and magnetic susceptibility. These measurements can provide information about a material's strength, direction, and stability of its magnetic properties.

What materials have magnetic properties?

Most commonly, materials that have magnetic properties are metals and alloys, such as iron, nickel, and cobalt. However, some non-metallic materials, such as ceramics and minerals, also exhibit magnetic properties.

What factors affect magnetic properties?

The magnetic properties of a material can be affected by its composition, crystal structure, temperature, and external magnetic fields. Changes in any of these factors can alter the strength and direction of a material's magnetic properties.

How are magnetic properties used in everyday life?

Magnetic properties have many practical applications in everyday life, such as in electric motors, generators, and transformers. They are also used in data storage devices, medical equipment, and transportation systems.
