Help me to introduction in superstring theory what is it ?

In summary, the conversation discusses the topic of string theory and the possibility of considering strings with infinite lengths. The speaker suggests checking out their blog for more information and advises the asker to provide more details in their questions. The asker also asks if there are any theories with intersecting strings.

Just must be joking, right ? I mean, asking such a question like this ? What do you expect ? A concise summary of what string theory is all about ?

Well, OK, no problem...Please take a look at this FAMOUS website

If you have some previous experience in lagrangian mechanics and quantum physics you could read some blog entries of mine

More to follow. But realize that you could get some decent answers if you made your questions somewhat more detailed. What is your background? What exactly are you interested in?

HINT : Asking a little more politely would also help.

Would there be anything to considering a string theory in which the strings, instead of having finite lengths, extended indefinitely in space? Like a fine meshwork. Possibly two or three sets of intersecting strings.

Related to Help me to introduction in superstring theory what is it ?

1. What is superstring theory?

Superstring theory is a theoretical framework in physics that attempts to unify the four fundamental forces of nature (gravity, electromagnetism, weak and strong nuclear forces) by describing all particles and interactions as vibrations of tiny one-dimensional strings. It is often referred to as a "theory of everything" as it aims to explain all physical phenomena in the universe.

2. How does superstring theory differ from other theories of physics?

Superstring theory differs from other theories of physics, such as quantum mechanics and general relativity, by proposing that particles are not point-like but are instead one-dimensional strings. This allows for the unification of all the fundamental forces and the potential to explain phenomena that cannot be explained by current theories.

3. How did superstring theory come about?

Superstring theory was first developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s by physicists trying to reconcile the discrepancies between general relativity and quantum mechanics. It has since evolved into various versions, including M-theory, which is currently the most widely accepted version.

4. What are some potential implications of superstring theory?

If proven correct, superstring theory could have significant implications for our understanding of the universe and possibly lead to technological advancements. It could help explain phenomena such as dark matter and dark energy, provide a better understanding of the beginning of the universe, and potentially lead to the development of new technologies like quantum computers.

5. Is there any evidence to support superstring theory?

Currently, there is no direct experimental evidence for superstring theory. However, some mathematical and theoretical calculations have shown promise in supporting the theory. As technology and research methods continue to advance, scientists hope to find evidence that could validate or disprove the theory in the future.
