In summary, the rest of the helicopter was destroyed by the SEALs with explosives at the end of the mission. Some pieces may have been kept by Pakistanis and potentially sold to China and Russia for the valuable stealth technology. This has happened before with a downed F-117 in the Kosovo war.

Just a question.
What happened to the rest of the helicopter?

I was trying to find out more about the other half, and seem to be getting nowhere.

Any link or quick answer would be welcome.

thanks

edit ... never mind.. asking the wrong question never works.

With the chopper inoperable, at the end of the mission the SEALs destroyed it with explosives.

That's the beauty of PF—you always get a rapid response, even if you have to provide it yourself.

the tail rotor is the part that made press. there may be other worthwhile pieces scattered around that did not make press.

Those missing pieces might not make press, but they might make E-Bay ... hehehe

I highly doubt the entire heli tail was returned, I'm pretty sure Pakistanis kept a few pieces for the Chinese and Russians. Its the coating and metal used for its stealth that's so highly prized. Russia and China would pay big bucks for that.

Remember that F-117 that was shot down in Kosovo war?? The Serbs sold most of the debris to China and Russia:
