i'm interested in doing some work on quantum biology, does anybody know of any good places for resources, such as papers, books, or just any good avenues of research in this field.

I'm interested in it particularly as I'm currently doing some work in a biophysics lab, and if I find any cool experiments to do I have access to the needed supplies. In particular I'm interested in what quantum effects if any occur in macro-molecules. and the theoretical reasons why we don't see more quantum effects.

As a fellow scientist, I am excited to hear about your interest in quantum biology. This is a relatively new and rapidly growing field that combines principles of quantum mechanics and biology to explore the role of quantum processes in living systems.

There are many resources available for you to delve into this field. One good starting point is to look for review papers and books on quantum biology. These will provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of research in this area and can guide you towards specific topics that interest you.

Additionally, there are many scientific journals that publish research in quantum biology, such as Nature Communications, Physical Review Letters, and Journal of Biological Physics. These journals can be a great source of information for current studies and experiments in the field.

You can also attend conferences and workshops focused on quantum biology to learn about the latest research and network with other scientists in the field. This can also be a great opportunity to present your own work and receive feedback from experts in the field.

In terms of experiments, there are many potential avenues to explore in quantum biology. Some examples include studying the role of quantum coherence in photosynthesis, investigating quantum tunneling in enzymes, and exploring the role of quantum entanglement in cellular communication.

As for the theoretical reasons behind the limited observation of quantum effects in macro-molecules, there are various hypotheses and models that have been proposed. Some suggest that decoherence, the process by which quantum systems interact with their environment and lose their quantum properties, plays a significant role in preventing large-scale quantum effects in living systems. Others propose that biological systems have evolved to suppress or harness quantum effects for their own advantage.

I encourage you to continue your exploration of quantum biology and to collaborate with other researchers in this exciting and interdisciplinary field. With your background in biophysics, you have a unique perspective to contribute to this emerging area of research. Best of luck in your endeavors!
