Detailed engineering design, technology

In summary, detailed engineering design is the process of creating a detailed plan for a technology or project, including specific components, materials, and processes. It is important because it ensures feasibility, safety, and efficiency, and allows for adjustments before production. Technology plays a crucial role by providing tools and techniques for precise planning. The main difference between detailed engineering design and conceptual design is the level of detail. Challenges during the detailed engineering design process include time and budget constraints, technical limitations, and effective communication and collaboration.

Hi,
is there a website that gives the detailed design and technology of various devices/equipment and/or manufacturing processes?
howstuffworks, popsci and other similar sites have very trivial and basic information.

some typical examples i am trying to find are.. camera, fridge, helicopter, fiber optics..etc. etc.
just for curiosity

thanks
Nitin

You can find a lot of manufacturing process videos on Youtube, surprisingly. They're fairly detailed. It's a good place to start. I think you have to search for a specific term though, like "die casting" or "friction stir welding".

Related to Detailed engineering design, technology

What is detailed engineering design?

Detailed engineering design is the process of creating a detailed plan or blueprint for a technology or project. It involves determining the specific components, materials, and processes needed to bring a concept to life.

Why is detailed engineering design important?

Detailed engineering design is important because it ensures that a technology or project is feasible, safe, and efficient. It also helps identify potential issues and allows for adjustments to be made before production or implementation.

What is the role of a technology in detailed engineering design?

The role of technology in detailed engineering design is to provide the tools and techniques needed to create a comprehensive and precise plan. This includes software, computer-aided design (CAD) programs, and other advanced technologies.

What is the difference between detailed engineering design and conceptual design?

The main difference between detailed engineering design and conceptual design is the level of detail. Conceptual design focuses on the overall concept and idea, while detailed engineering design delves into the specifics and technical aspects of the project.

What are some challenges faced during detailed engineering design?

Some common challenges faced during detailed engineering design include time and budget constraints, technical limitations, and unforeseen issues that may arise. Communication and collaboration between team members and stakeholders is also crucial for success.
