    Convergence
In summary, the series $\displaystyle\sum\frac{n^5}{2^n}$ converges and this can be proven using both the ratio test and the root test. Additionally, the root test shows that the series will always converge for any exponent $k$ in the numerator term $n^k$.

Well what tests did you try?the ratio test and the root test both give you what you need. Try them. If you need more hints let us know.Mohammad

$\displaystyle\lim_{n\to\infty}\left|\frac{a_{n+1}}{a_n}\right|=\lim_{n\to\infty}\frac{(n+1)^5}{2n^5}=\frac{1}{2}$

So, $\displaystyle\sum\frac{n^5}{2^n}$ converges.

$a_n=\dfrac{n^k}{2^n},$ so by the root test the series always converges for all $k.$

Based on the ratio test, the given series is convergent. The ratio test states that if $\displaystyle\lim_{n\to\infty}\left|\frac{a_{n+1}}{a_n}\right|<1$, then the series $\displaystyle\sum a_n$ is convergent.

Applying this test to the given series, we have:

$\displaystyle\lim_{n\to\infty}\left|\frac{\frac{(n+1)^5}{2^{n+1}}}{\frac{n^5}{2^n}}\right|=\lim_{n\to\infty}\left|\frac{(n+1)^5}{n^5}\cdot\frac{2^n}{2^{n+1}}\right|=\lim_{n\to\infty}\left|\frac{(n+1)^5}{n^5}\cdot\frac{1}{2}\right|=\frac{1}{2}<1$

Therefore, by the ratio test, the series $\displaystyle\sum\frac{n^5}{2^n}$ is convergent. This means that as we add more terms to the series, the overall sum will approach a finite value. In other words, the terms in the series decrease at a fast enough rate to ensure convergence.

Related to Convergence of $\displaystyle\sum\frac{n^5}{2^n}$

What is the formula for the convergence of $\displaystyle\sum\frac{n^5}{2^n}$?

The formula for the convergence of $\displaystyle\sum\frac{n^5}{2^n}$ is given by the ratio test, where the limit as n approaches infinity of the absolute value of the ratio of the (n+1)th term to the nth term must be less than 1 for the series to converge.

What is the rate of convergence for $\displaystyle\sum\frac{n^5}{2^n}$?

The rate of convergence for $\displaystyle\sum\frac{n^5}{2^n}$ is geometric, meaning that the terms decrease in size at a constant ratio. This ratio is given by 1/2, as seen in the denominator of the series.

What is the significance of the value of the convergence for $\displaystyle\sum\frac{n^5}{2^n}$?

The value of the convergence for $\displaystyle\sum\frac{n^5}{2^n}$ represents the sum of an infinite series, which can be used in various mathematical and scientific calculations. It also helps determine the behavior of the series and whether or not it will approach a finite limit or diverge.

How does the convergence of $\displaystyle\sum\frac{n^5}{2^n}$ compare to other series with different terms?

The convergence of $\displaystyle\sum\frac{n^5}{2^n}$ is relatively slow compared to other series with different terms. This can be seen by comparing the rate of convergence, as well as the value of the convergence, to other series. However, it is still a convergent series and can be useful in certain applications.

What are some real-world applications of the convergence of $\displaystyle\sum\frac{n^5}{2^n}$?

The convergence of $\displaystyle\sum\frac{n^5}{2^n}$ has various applications in fields such as physics, engineering, and computer science. It can be used to model the growth of populations, the decay of radioactive materials, and the convergence of numerical algorithms, among others.
